By way of marking the occasion, Funding Circle has issued an infographic outlining its brief history (which can be viewed below). The timeline kicks off with the financial crisis of 2008 and the opening of the small business funding gap. This served as the impetus for the launch of a whole host of alternative finance providers. The Funding Circle’s journey since then has been an unprecedented success story. According to AltFi Data, Funding Circle has now lent over £340m to UK businesses – not to mention the fact that it will likely cross the $100m mark in the US by the year’s end.
