Just Loans Group Appoints New Non-Executive Director

Alternartive lender group The Just Loans Group PLC has appointed Susanne Chishti – a leading FinTech expert in Europe - as a non-executive director.

Susanne is CEO at FINTECH Circle (a European angel network focused on FinTech investments) and Chairman of FINTECH Circle Innovate, a business that helps banks to close the gap between corporate strategy and innovation in FinTech. Susanne has also been recognised in the European Digital Financial Services ‘Power 50’ list 2015, - an independent ranking of the most influential individuals in Europe’s digital financial services sector.

Susan commented on her appointment:

“I am delighted to be joining The Just Loans Group PLC; it does an excellent job in helping to bridge the funding gap that has restricted the progress of UK businesses over the last few years and it’s now planning to take that model to other European market places. FinTech innovation provides SMEs with more choice in raising capital and The Just Loans Group, as a superior debt capital provider is well placed to support this. […]”

The Just Loans Group lends money to growing UK businesses through three wholly owned subsidiaries: Just Cash Flow, Just Finance and Investments and Just Bridging Loans. Just Cash Flow PLC is a specialist lender to UK businesses and promoter of the National Association of Commercial Finance Brokers; Just Finance and Investments takes equity investments in companies as part of supplying flexible, long-term finance; Just Bridging Loans specialises in providing funding in the commercial property sector.

The Just Loans Group CEO John Davies added:

“We are delighted to have someone of Susanne’s experience and calibre joining us at a time when FinTech is enabling us to deliver customer service enhancements and providing new technologies in our back office. Additionally we are increasingly looking to support and invest in budding FinTech entrepreneurs that enhance our business model.”

The Group says it leverages the latest technologies and credit scoring analytics to the benefit of its customer base. The addition of Susanne Chishti follows on from a recent partnership with the Ablrate, a peer-lending platform that provides asset finance to a wide range of UK businesses. As part of the agreement The Just Loans Group committed to place “buckets” of SME loan deals onto the Ablrate platform for funding. The first of these tranches sought to raise £500k, but ultimately the programme plans to facilitate up to £10m of funding for UK small businesses.

John Davies concluded on Susanne’s appointment:

“Susanne will make a great contribution to accelerating our involvement in the most promising and customer focused FinTech technologies and companies that will see us take a lead in the European digital lending space.”
