Yieldport.com launches to help investors navigate high-yielding alternative finance opportunities.
A newly launched website is attempting to simplify the process of surveying the alternative finance landscape for investors.
Yieldport.com, based in the Netherlands, says that income investors ought to be looking to the alternative finance sector, with interest rates hitting all-time lows across Europe. However, the company said that the broad scale of offerings and a lack of standardised information make the industry difficult to navigate.
Its solution is a community and search engine which aggregates investment opportunities from a wide array of originators. Yieldport trawls the web in real-time, searching for new opportunities to list. Investors can set themselves criteria – using investment type, sector and duration filters – in order to trim down the opportunities generated by the platform.
Users can also access sector-specific communities of experts to discuss opportunities, and can keep tabs on all their activity through a personalised timeline.
There are currently more than 2,000 projects listed on the site from 30 different countries, spanning convertibles, equity, real estate, loans and mini bonds.
“With these new tools we try to bring transparency into this market by cutting out traditional lines and let people use the wisdom of the crowd,” says Mark Gesterkamp, managing partner at Yieldport.
AltFi is returning to Amsterdam for its second annual Summit in the city. The inaugural event last year was a roaring success, with key figures from across Continental Europe's alternative finance and digital banking sectors highlighted. These included Jeroen Broekema, managing director of Funding Circle Netherlands, and Mieke van Engelen, head of innovative partnerships at ABN AMRO's standalone lending platform, New10.
