Seedrs announces partnership with commercial broker Finpoint

It’s a match made in crowdfunding and SME lending heaven for UK businesses, ahead of the Chancellor's announcement this morning.

Equity crowdfunding platform Seedrs has today launched a “multi-faceted” partnership with commercial finance broker Finpoint, aimed at providing funding solutions to SMEs and boosting investment in UK businesses.

Finpoint has said it will be promoting Seedrs’ investment opportunities amongst its network of partners and investors as part of the deal, with a focus on growth-focused British SMEs. In exchange, Seedrs expects to gain access to growth financing opportunities on the Finpoint platform, as well as to its partners such as the Federation of Small Businesses’ FSB Funding platform.

“We are always looking for new ways to further support and boost investment into early-stage businesses,” said Adam Reeve, Investor Manager at Seedrs. “Our strategic partnership with Finpoint will widen the support offering to those businesses, whilst at the same time leverage their network of investors to further drive investment into British businesses.”

It is hoped that British businesses seeking equity investment will get faster access to guidance, specialised advice and investment opportunities by designing a successful crowdfunding campaign on Seedrs as a result of the partnership.

The announcement was made today in conjunction with a wider fintech strategy launched this morning by UK Chancellor of the Exchequer Phillip Hammond, which is aimed at helping the UK’s fintech sector flourish with the support of the government for the first time.

Rainer Plentl, CEO at Finpoint, added: “We are delighted to be partnering with Seedrs, the UK’s top funder of private companies. This unique partnership will allow us to provide our technology-led, high quality customer service to a new segment of high-growth businesses.

“With as many as 50% of high growth businesses being hampered in their ability to scale up due to a lack of access to funding, we believe this is an exciting time for Seedrs and Finpoint to collaborate in order to better connect businesses with available investment options.”
