David Stevenson

David brings a wealth of experience to AltFi Data. David trained as a quantative economist before moving into financial journalism where he has written about investing and finance for many years. David is Editor in Chief of our sister website, AltFiNews he is also a columnist for the Financial Times (the Adventurous Investor), Investment Week and Money Week. David is an experienced media entrepreneur (he’s set up a number of online media companies focused on online TV and viral videos) and a knowledgeable investment expert. He was also one of the very first journalists to write about the sector in the national newspapers.

 

Rupert Taylor

Rupert spent 13 years working in investment banking and gained a broad experience of financial markets. From a start in equity sales at Cazenove he moved into cross-asset sales at Lehman and finally into principal trading at Nomura. This career path gives Rupert a perspective from both buy and sell-side and an understanding of a range of asset classes and financial data. Rupert holds a BSc from the University of Durham.

 

Sam Griffiths

Sam has 10 years’ experience in financial markets, working for a number of global investment banks in that time. He is vastly experienced in the use and interpretation of financial data and was an early adopter of peer to peer lending as an investor in a private capacity. Immediately prior to joining AltFi Data as Managing Director, Sam spent some time working for a small business, gaining valuable experience and a better understanding of some the challenges that SMEs face. Sam holds a MEng from Oxford University.

 

Ryan Weeks

Ryan is the Editor of AltFi News. He writes extensively about peer-to-peer lending, crowdfunding and online invoice finance. AltFi provides valuable coverage of the alternative finance space through a blend of news, events and data provision. Ryan also plays a major role in organizing these events and is in close contact with the major platforms from the UK, Europe and increasingly the US. Operating at the coalface of the alternative finance arena allows him a unique insight into this rapidly developing industry. He holds a 1st class degree in BA History from Newcastle University.

 

Daniel Lanyon

Daniel is Editor of AltFi Investor, extensively covering professional investment in the alternative finance space. He was formerly a senior and award winning journalist at FE Trustnet covering the world of financial markets and asset management. Having attained a degree in economics, he went on to work as a journalist at several of the world’s leading media organisations including The Times, BBC and Reuters covering economics, business and politics. Before this he worked as an economics and business correspondent for Hurriyet Daily News in Istanbul, Turkey. 

 

Oli Batchelor

Oli builds and manages our web platform as well as provides multimedia content for AltFi. Raised in Uganda where he first started developing web platforms as well as create digital content in multiple media types. Whilst there he worked with a number of clients in the oil sector both providing IT infrastructure & collecting marketing material. 

 

Bianca Dragan

An Events Management graduate from University of Westminster, Bianca is the point of contact for everything regarding Events and Marketing. Prior to AltFi Bianca organised meetups & conferences for tech startups. In her spare time she enjoys travelling, reading and video games.

 

Glenn Hodgeman

Glenn is an executive director for AltFi in Australia. He has been running Global Credit businesses for nearly 20 years across Australia and Asia. More recently with Westpac Banking Corporation as Global Head of Credit Trading. Previous to this heading up Trading businesses for Citi/Salomon Smith Barney and ANZ. His specialty, investing across all parts of the debt capital structure, including distressed assets. The more recent regulatory changes in the Australian Banking industry are now starting to to impact the business models of the Australian Banks. So he has been focused on the emergence of P2P lenders, Crowd funding and assisting Global Funds to invest in this growing asset class.
