A new rewards based crowdfunding platform has joined the throng of AltFinance providers. Kriticalmass claim to have a uniquely inclusive approach to the business of fundraising.
The London-based platform will focus on projects for social good. It will allow backers the opportunity to offer their skills, time and network alongside (or instead of) the funding that they provide for a particular project. Rewards can thus be exchanged for, say, expert legal advice, marketing tools, and so on – as well as for funding. Companies can get involved in the fundraising process too. Organizations can also champion a campaign by offering up their services in a bid to see that campaign realized.
Bartolomeo Guarienti, Co-Founder and CEO of kriticalmass, said:
“It takes more than money for a project to succeed.
“We have built a platform where social advocacy, individual funding and the resources and reach of companies come together to make great ideas happen. No other crowd sourcing or funding site can offer this.
“Fundamentally, we want to help visionary creators access the support they need to make a difference, whether that comes from individuals or corporates. kriticalmass is about ‘powering good’ – every project on the platform is focused on inspiring people and improving lives.”
The platform has already attracted the backing of a few leading technology investors. Tom Teichman, early-stage investor in lastminute.com, and Sir John Hegarty, Founder of the global creative advertising agency Bartle Bogle Hegarty (BBH), are both on board.
