CLOWD9, a new UK fintech providing a decentralised, payments processing platform, has appointed Peter Selman as its first Chairman.

Selman is a former banker and has been the global head of equities at Deutsche Bank and the global head of equity derivatives at Goldman Sachs.

Founded in 2021, CLOWD9 now has 40 employees and an investor base that includes former partners at Morgan Stanley, JP Morgan, Deutsche Bank and Vantage Capital Markets.

Its co-founders include CEO Suresh Vaghjian, the former CEO of Tribe Payments and former President of GPS, as well as Cosmo Spens, Artur Grabowski, Robert Hampel, and Peter Selman.

“The momentum we have already seen behind CLOWD9 is impressive, successfully building a platform from first principles that brings payments processing into the modern age and establishing ourselves as a genuine challenger to the current operating model,” said Selman.

“This has all been made possible by the experience and dedication of the team, and the traction we are already seeing with clients is testament to the need for a new generation of payments platform,” he added.
