Fintechs lose the top spot on Deloitte’s 2022 fastest-growing tech company ranking

Fintechs have ceded the top spot on Deloitte’s annual ranking of the fastest-growing UK technology companies, with Plum being the highest-ranked fintech at No.5 on the list.

The Deloitte UK Technology Fast 50 compares the revenue growth rate of the country’s top tech firms for the last three years to find which are experiencing the fastest growth.

Whilst names like ClearBank and Revolut have seized the top spot in recent years, this year it was mobile games company Tripledot Studios in the lead, the creator of games like Woodoku and Wordhop reported an impressive three-year growth rate of 69,387 per cent.

Plum’s position as the fastest-growing fintech (and 5th on the list overall) was achieved by its three-year growth rate of 7,735 per cent.

“This prestigious recognition is testament to all the hard work of our employees,” said Plum’s CEO and co-founder Victor Trokoudes.

“In the past four years, Plum has transformed from a chatbot to a comprehensive, smart money app, helping over 1.4 million people invest, save and manage their spending with automation.”

All together 12 fintechs were included in Deloitte’s ranking this year, with Airtime Rewards in 10th place (growth of 3,937 per cent), ClearBank slipping from the top spot last year to 14th (growth of 2,453 per cent) and Railsr in 18th (growth of 1,980.2 per cent).

Further down the list were familiar names like Soldo (35th), Loqbox (45th) and Moneybox (47th).
