“The business case for expanding our second headquarters in Liverpool, and doubling down on our commitment to the Northwest, was straightforward and easy."
Liverpool is quickly living up to its promise as Cashplus’s “second HQ”, as the neobank for SMEs today announced it will double its planned headcount there.
Originally Cashplus had secured 6,000 sq ft of office space for 70 employees at The Spine building in Liverpool’s Paddington Village, however, this will now be more than doubled to 150 jobs over the next five years.
“The business case for expanding our second headquarters in Liverpool, and doubling down on our commitment to the Northwest, was straightforward and easy,” said Colin Webb, operations director of Cashplus Bank.
“This is a dynamic city and one of the UK’s biggest financial centres with a wide community of financial services and technology experts, not to mention an excellent future talent pool with two leading universities. Over the next few years, we hope to further continue to grow our presence in Liverpool, bringing jobs and opportunities to the area.“
Among the roles being created are operations, customers services and complaints teams as well as a number of head office roles in the company’s commercial and technology departments.
The Spine is an award-winning 200,000 sq ft £35m development with a unique design that is supposed to “[draw] on the narrative of the human body and its abstract representation through architecture and biophilia”.
Inside there are a series of double-height floors that act as vertical villages, filled with a mix of plants and trees that reduce carbon dioxide, produce oxygen and which the designers say represent the building’s “lungs”.
The building is in the process of being accredited at the Core Platinum level of the WELL Certification, a series of scientific and medical research principles for workplaces.
