This morning Financial News has published its annual Fintech 40 – which highlights the 40 most important people in the European FinTech space. No fewer than 6 alternative finance CEOs make it onto the top 40.
The number of representatives from banks has doubled since last year, suggesting that the banks are striving hard to keep abreast of the new technology and innovation within the financial space. However, the number of alternative finance CEOs included in the list has tripled. This would suggest that the alternative finance sector is in fine health.
The 6 AltFi Industry leaders in the FinTech 40 are:
Giles Andrews:
Co-founder and CEO of Zopa which has lent £914 million since its inception in 2004
Simon Champ:
CEO of Eaglewood Europe, the first permanent capital fund focusing on acquiring loans from peer to peer lending platforms
Samir Desai:
Co-founder and CEO of Funding Circle which was
. Samir was named in the FinTech 40 last year.
Jeff Lynn:
Co-founder and CEO of Seedrs, an “all or nothing” equity crowdfunding platform. Jeff joins Samir as the only other representative to return from last year.
Geoff Miller:
CEO of GLI Finance Limited, who
Anil Stocker:
Co-founder and CEO of MarketInvoice which has provided £425 million worth of funding since it was created in 2010
