With plenty of experience of the traditional financial industry the firm has ambitious plans to encourage more and more customers to embrace digital wealth management.
Newly launched digital wealth manager Tiller has expanded its team with a raft of senior hires as the firm plots its ambitious growth plans following its launch earlier this month.
John Bennett has joined as head of business development and Mark Cadby as chief technology officer.
Launched in July 2018, Tiller combines an automated investment portfolio with both exchange traded funds (ETFs) as well as active managers and thematic portolio overlays.
Formed by the duo behind hedge fund boutique Ermitage, the firm is offering portfolios from 0.75 per cent per year (not including fund fees) with a minimum £10,0000 investment. It is launching with an individual Savings Account (ISA) and general investment account (GIA) with plans for a SIPP to follow.
The firm has raised £9m so far with £2m from its senior management team.
John Bennett has over 25 years’ experience working in sales & business development roles. Prior to joining Tiller, he was a partner at quantitative risk management start up, QLAB Invest AG, a quantitative multi-asset index provider. Prior to that, John was UK Head of Alternative Funds Distribution at UBS Bank. He also previously spent 10 years as Head of UK Distribution at Man Investments from 2000 to 2010.
Mark Cadby has over 30 years’ experience in the IT industry working in both Project Management and IT Management roles for international financial institutions, software houses and as an independent consultant. He led the transformation of an in-house product into a marketable external systems product offering for Ermitage Group and was responsible for a number of large application integrations for Standard Bank (Jersey) Limited

Tiller has also appointed Hamish Haddow as head of marketing and Marcus Dutton as product & innovation director. Hamish joins Tiller from Hargreaves Lansdown, where he worked across channels generating leads and accounts, while Marcus joins from DMS Bank & Trust, where he was head of card services.
