Tiller Investments has made, mostly from traditional a City firms, a raft of new appointments.
Digital wealth manager Tiller Investments has made a series of new senior appointments to its investment team.
The firm launched in July with the goal of offering an old-school investment management experience alongside the latest technology rather than being a tech firm 'who saw an opportunity in the world of wealth management', according to its co-founder and CEO Ian Cadby.
In this spirit the firm has hired for several new senior positions from traditional financial firms.
Shezad Lakha is appointed Head of Quantitative Investments and Daniel Greenhough is appointed Senior Investment Portfolio Manager while Dr Glenn Baggley and Douglas Shaw have joined as Directors.
Shezad Lakha is a CFA charter holder who has spent 20 years in the asset management industry, 18 of which were at Schroders Investment Management. Daniel Greenhough, who joins from Lumin Wealth, is a CFA qualified investment professional with nine years of experience in managing private client portfolios, including serving on the portfolio Selection Committee of Barclays Wealth, London.
Dr Glenn Baggley is a quantitative engineer with over 20 years’ investment expertise. He was the founder of Eddington Capital. Douglas Shaw has worked in finance for over 30 years and in asset management for 25. He has held senior positions at BlackRock and Gartmore. In 2003 he was founding COO of the Children’s Investment Fund and in 2015 he helped launch Roxbury Asset Management.
The team will report to Tiller Co-Founder and Chief Investment Officer Jonathan Wauton.
Tiller recently made four other senior hires, including John Bennett joining as Head of Business Development and Mark Cadby joining as Chief Technology Officer.
Jonathan Wauton, Chief Investment Officer & Co-Founder of Tiller, said: “A very important part of our offering, and in many ways our differentiator to other online wealth managers, is the knowledge and experience of our investment team. I am pleased that we have been able to attract the type of talent Doug, Shezad, Glenn and Daniel bring to Tiller.
“Between them they have worked at some of the most well-known or successful asset managers in the world and their expertise will serve to benefit Tiller’s discerning clients who are looking for a premium online wealth manager and more control over their investments.”
