Revolut users (in Europe) keen to use Apple Pay rejoice! The challenger banking giant has now launched the integration in 16 countries.

As revealed exclusively by AltFi mobile payments like Apple Pay and Android Pay are used by 38 per cent of Brits, the highest adoption in Europe German respondents were most likely to use cash (87 per cent). Europe-wide 24 per cent of our 4,528 respondents said they use mobile payments like Apple Pay or Android Pay, however, this was lowest in France where just 11 per cent opt to use mobile payments.

The data came from a 4,500-person Europe-wide fintech survey AltFi conducted with Streetbees revealing how payment and banking habits are changing across the continent.

Revolut’s customers in the UK, France, Poland, Germany, Czech Republic, Spain, Italy, Switzerland, Ireland, Belgium, Austria, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland and Iceland can all use Apple Pay.

Apple Pay allows users to make payments across the iPhone, Apple Watch, iPad and Mac.

Arthur Johanet, Product Owner for Card Payments at Revolut says Revolut’s customers have been requesting Apple Pay for “a long time”.

“This is a very positive step forward in enabling our customers to use their money in the way that they want to.”
