Funding Circle’s UK boss James Meekings will step down from his role in September, moving to a non-executive director role on the company’s board.

Lisa Jacobs, the firm’s chief strategy officer, will take up the role.

Meekings said in a statement to AltFi: “After 10 years of building Funding Circle with Samir, Andrew and the rest of the team, I’m ready to take a step back from the day-to-day operations. In Lisa we have absolutely the best person to take the business on its next stage of growth, having been with the business for seven years as Chief Strategy Officer.”

“I am incredibly proud of everything we have achieved since we first launched, helping more than 92,000 small businesses globally accessing the funds they need to grow, and enabling 115,000 jobs in 2018 alone. I’m looking forward to staying involved in the UK business as a non-executive director and helping Funding Circle continue on its mission to be the number one choice for small businesses and investors around the world.”
