Digital receipt provider Flux has ‘printed’ half a million digital receipts for customers since going live in April 2017.

The milestone comes after Flux partnered with banks including Monzo, Starling and Barclays Launchpad, and seven retailers like KFC, Just Eat, Itsu and with a Costa Coffee partnership coming soon.

"Flux is thrilled to have delivered its 500,000th receipt - but half a million is only the first step and there is a long way to go,” said Flux CEO and co-founder Matty Cusden-Ross.

“Every year 11.2bn receipts are printed. Not only does this cost businesses £32bn every year, but it's leading to huge amounts of environmental waste, including tens of thousands of trees, gallons of water and oil, not to mention the use of toxic chemicals such as BPA and BPS.”

Flux sits in between banks, payment providers and retailers, using its matching algorithm to associate individual products purchased with transactions in your mobile banking app.

The result is a per item digital receipt, valid for returns and some of which are valid for VAT calculations.

“Growing as fast as we are, with more partnerships and more banks supporting Flux's technology than ever, we are able to provide a simpler, more streamlined experience for customers when it comes to shopping, paying, and receiving receipts.”
