H&M and Microsoft among the Swedish international payments company's new partners.
Swedish international payments company Klarna says it has added 60,000 merchant partners in 2019, including H&M, Timberland and Microsoft.
Klarna says it now has a total of 190,000 merchant partners, with a recent uplift in travel, home and beauty merchant partners.
Klarna offers a card payment service, which allows customers to pay for goods over time, with the purchase price broken up in instalments.
It pays the merchant upfront to protect against fraud and the risk that a consumer might not pay.
Sebastian Siemiatkowski, founder and CEO at Klarna (pictured), said: “Retail is undergoing a radical shift driven by consumers who are expecting more transparency, flexibility as well as intuitive services centred around their needs when shopping.”
“Klarna now has over 190,000 merchant partners globally who are understanding that in order to be competitive and build loyalty, they need to think of the end to end shopping experience for the consumer rather than just a transaction."
Other new merchants working with Klarna include River Island, Boohoo, Made.com, Abercrombie & Fitch, Timberland, Agent Provocateur, Swarovski, Rue 21, TOMS and WayFair.
