OakNorth and British Business Bank bosses make New Years Honours’ list
Financial inclusion was another theme for honours recipients in the financial world.

The CEOs of fintech firms have made regular appearances on the New Year’s honours lists of recent years and the latest, out on Saturday, had two notable mentions.
Rishi Khosla, who heads up OakNorth Bank, the firm he founded alongside Joel Perlman, was awarded an OBE “for services to business”
Keith Morgan, the outgoing CEO of the British Business Bank was also awarded a CBE “For services to small business finance.”
Khosla and Morgan were among only five names in total on the 1000-strong list awarded gongs for banking or finance. The other names included Ross Mcewan, CEO of Royal Bank of Scotland, who was awarded a CBE “For services to the Financial Sector” as was Dr Saker Anwar Nusseibeh, CEO of Hermes Investment Management “For services to Responsible Business and to the Financial Sector”.
Jonathan Symonds who is Deputy Group Chairman of HSBC, as well as Chair of Genomics England, was awarded a knighthood “For services to UK Life Sciences and Finance” and Alison Brenchley, Group Director, Nationwide Building Society was awarded an OBE “For services to Financial Services and Diversity”.
A number of others were specifically awarded gongs “For services to Financial inclusion” such as Caroline Domanski,I Chief Executive Officer, No1 Copperpot Credit Union, Roy Lewis and Teresa Manning, Chief Executive Officer, Clockwise Credit Union.
