Despite international travel being put on hold for the foreseeable future, London-based fintech Curve has launched a new premium service across Europe.

The all-your-cards-in-one fintech has rolled out its premium ‘Metal’ card in all countries in the European Economic Area (EEA), except Iceland and Liechtenstein for the time being.

Curve Metal allows customers to benefit from unlimited cashback, increase spending limits as well as access to travel lounges and a higher tier of travel insurance—although it’s unlikely these features will come in handy just yet.

The premium subscription offers customers more features as well as an 18g metal card that comes in three colours all for €14.99 a month or €150 a year.

In comparison, Revolut, one of the cards you can access via your Curve account, charges €13.99 a month for its premium ‘Metal’ subscription and N26 charges €16.90 per month for its premium ‘Metal’ account.

Nathalie Oestmann, COO of Curve, who first teased Curve’s European expansion back in March 2020 in an interview with AltFisaid: “The immediate availability of our premium tier in the EEA is a clear commitment to our growth throughout Europe and is yet another important step to realise our vision of a connected, simplified and unified financial world.”

Curve first introduced Curve Metal to its UK customers in January 2019 and says it has been one of the most requested features by its European customer base since the launch.

Oestmann said: “Curve’s customers have been desperate to get their hands on one of our beautifully crafted cards and benefit from its premium features for quite some time now.”

Late last month Curve revealed it was to drop Wirecard after the KPMG audit delay and more its e-money services in-house.

Curve is currently valued at $250m following a $55m Series B fundraise completed last year.
