In just a few weeks' time we are launching our inaugural AltFi Festival of Finance.

This four-day extravaganza will see European fintech and alternative lending’s best and brightest minds discussing everything from profitability, European expansion, M&A, lending during Covid-19 and much more.

Our exclusive leadership day for VIP Ticket Holders-only will take things further, with advice from the leading startups in our sector on topics like hyper-growth strategies, tackling recruitment from a distance, and managing mental health for remote teams.

But with so much going on throughout the week, it’s not easy to know how to tackle a week like the Festival of Finance, so we put together this handy guide.

Here are our top 5 ways to make the most of your time at the Festival:

1. Pick your sessions wisely

With so much on it’ll be impossible to catch every session, so firstly take your time working through the agenda to pick and plan your sessions wisely.

For instance, if you’re after an Open Banking-themed week, be sure not to miss:

  • Day 1, 14:40 – 15:10 Can Open Finance Succeed? With TrueLayer, Barclays, PensionBee and Innovate Finance
  • Day 2, 11:40 – 12:10 The Open Banking Lending Revolution, with Experian, Habito and CashPlus
  • Day 3, 11:40 – 12:10 How APIs Will Power Europe's Next Fintech Boom, with Plaid’s Keith Grose and BBVA’s Carlos López-Moctezuma.

Or if it’s unique insights and new ideas you’re after, how about:

  • Day 1, 11:30 – 12:00 Quantum Computing And Finance, with Ilyas Khan from Cambridge Quantum Computing
  • Day 2, 14:30 – 15:00 Digital Banks And Alternative Lenders: A Love Story, with Metro Bank’s CEO Dan Frumkin
  • Day 3, 14:40 – 15:10 Exploring The Ecosystem: Tallin, with Bondora and TransferWise

Decisions, decisions.

2. Question our speakers

The brilliant advantage of virtual events is that there’s no microphone and anyone can ask a question at any time, so make sure you do!

Whether it’s asking Imran Gulamhuseinwala about his hopes for the future of finance, or how Anne Boden has handled WFH, we’ve got you covered.

Post your burning questions in the event chat and our moderators will do their best to get your questions answered.

3. Explore the Expo

Yes, besides networking, listening to and questioning speakers, we also have a bustling Expo area.

Our eight Booths from partners including Just Cash Flow, Banking Circle, Plaid, TrueLayer, nCino, DueDil and Experian are open and ready

4. Go VIP for advanced networking

Looking to take your networking to the next level? We’re here to help.

Our VIP Ticket includes two bespoke introductions through our Concierge team to the attendees you’re looking to meet.

We can’t guarantee a meeting, our personalised touch will certainly help to get one in the diary.

5. Vote for your favourite fintech in the Pitch Off

Day 1 will see six up and coming fintechs trying to win your vote as part of our Fintech Pitch Off.

Pitching startups so far include Genuine Impract, with CEO Truman Du presenting, KooDoo, with CEO and co-founder Seb McDermott presenting, and Lumio with CEO Charlie Richardson.

The pitches will take place on the main stage during the lunch break on Day 1, with winners announced at the same time on Day 2.

And don’t forget to vote in the Polls Tab!
