John Hammond will work alongside three former colleagues and will help drive Railsbank’s growth and international expansion plans.
It seems like the mantra at Railsbank is to keep your friends close and your former colleagues even closer.
John Hammond has been appointed as the fintech’s new chief commercial officer, nearly four years after holding the same position at Currencycloud.
Hammond will work alongside former colleagues Nigel Verdon (co-founder and CEO), Nick Bourner (chief technical architect), and Dov Marmor (chief operating officer, North America) in his new role.
“I liken our relationship to the great rock bands. Nigel is the visionary songwriter and lead guitarist - he understands the fintech space like no one else, hence he keeps creating these innovative companies,” Hammond said.
“Dov is a fantastic frontman, blessed with an amazing network and entrepreneurial spirit, whilst Nick is the bass and the drums, providing the infrastructure and groove for our growth. And I’m back as the rhythm guitarist, helping to knit everything together and drive the band forward!”
Since leaving Currencycloud in 2017, Hammond worked as senior vice president of sales at technology company 1E and both chief sales officer and chief revenue officer at digital learning platform Fuse Universal.
Of his former colleague’s appointment, Verdon added: It’s a real pleasure to welcome John to the Railsbank team. We’ve achieved a lot together and it means that The Fantastic Four has been reunited.”
“John’s appointment is a huge boost, and he will be instrumental as we deepen our footprint across Europe, Asia Pacific, and the US.”
As part of ‘The Fantastic Four’, Hammond will help to drive Railsbank’s growth strategy and international expansion plans.
