Fresh off the back of raising $1bn in March, Klarna is relocating its London HQ to snazzy new digs.

Klarna is heading from its existing Oxford Circus location to Holborn, where it’s taking 11,000 sq.ft. of WeWork’s Aviation House.

It comes as Klarna surpasses 200 UK staff and says it plans to double that number over the next year.

“The response we saw to the pandemic from our teams was so impressive and the considerable growth we achieved over the last year is testament to their dedication to our merchants and customers in tough circumstances,” said Alex Marsh, head of Klarna UK.

“I know many are eager to get back into the office to work together in person again. I’m certain the spaces we are creating for our teams and the flexible arrangements we have put in place will help them be even more creative and productive.”

And it’s not just London, in Manchester is expanding its current office space at the Old Granada Studios, although the company didn’t provide specifics on what this growth will look like.

Klarna said it will adopt a hybrid working policy for employees, with teams working together on two agreed days in the office each week, and with the flexibility to work from home or in the office on other days.

“These investments in new office space not only demonstrate our considerable growth, but also underline our ambitions to be an increasingly important part of the UK economy - shaping the future of how we shop, bank and pay,” added Marsh.
