As an early investor in some of the biggest names in fintech, Dawn Capital is making several promotions within its leadership team.

Mina Mutafchieva, who led Dawn’s investment in capital markets network AccessFintech, is being promoted to partner.

Her promotion takes Dawn’s partnership to two female partners out of five, and maintains its 50/50 gender balance across its investment committee, investment team and wider firm.

“Mina has been an important and effective agent for long-lasting change and success at Dawn,” said Evgenia Plotnikova, partner at Dawn.

“She has enhanced our relationships with other VCs and founders, refined our internal processes and supported us to develop and build our team. With these impactful improvements, she has helped take us to the next level as a firm and partner for our founders.”

Along with Mutafchieva, Dawn also promoted Dan Chaplin to principal, after four years of supporting the VC’s fintech portfolio, including crypto infrastructure provider Copper and open banking provider Tink.

Dawn has been on a roll these past few months, with six investments and the sale of its portfolio company Tink to Visa for $2.2bn.
