As Visa’s mammoth €1.8bn takeover of Tink awaits regulatory approval, the fintech is not slowing down in bolstering its senior team.

Today that includes the addition of a new chief revenue officer, Rowan Taylor, who joins the company from Amazon Web Services (AWS).

Taylor led the global financial services sales teams of AWS for give years, before that working at Gartner, KPMG and Accenture.

Taylor, whose appointment is immediate, said he would be focusing on “building high-performance teams who can serve complex customers”.

“Open banking is still in its infancy, and has been transforming the financial services industry in bites,” the CRO said.

“But now is the time to turn this change into a wave, by being able to work with the largest organisations at scale—and cementing Tink’s position as the predominant open banking platform in all of our chosen markets.”

Tink said Taylor will take responsibility for integrating all the fintech’s revenue-related functions, including sales, marketing, customer support and pricing.

The vast breadth of responsibilities means Taylor will likely become one of the most influential figures in the European open banking ecosystem, especially post-acquisition.
