Onfido opens new Amsterdam HQ after 200% sales growth in Benelux countries
Identity customers include Bunq, LeasePlan Bank and Lynk & Co.

Identity verification provider Onfido is opening its sixth international office in Amsterdam, with a new regional headquarters for the Benelux region.
The opening comes after Onfido says its sales across Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg grew 216 per cent in the last year.
It now counts customers including digital banking provider Bunq, Dutch digital bank LeasePlan Bank and Chinese-Swedish carmaker Lynk & Co.
“Benelux is a growing hotbed of international fintech activity that requires robust identity verification for KYC,” said Onfido CEO Mike Tuchen.
“This has been an area of growth for Onfido and we’re committed to providing the best possible service to our existing customers, as well as growing our business in the region. The establishment of our Netherlands office reflects this, and the significant potential that comes with the rate of innovation across all the Benelux markets.”
Onfido recently returned its £5m BRC grant after the business said it would continue to focus on its core identity business.
Last year the company raised a $100m funding round just as Covid-19 spooked international markets, showing how strong investor demand for the startup was.
Later in the year, Onfido followed up with solid growth figures as businesses around the world were forced to accelerate their adoption of digital identity verification to deal with remote operating.
