Starling becomes the official banking sponsor of Women’s Euros 2022
Securing priority ticket access for Starling Bank customers next year.

British neobank Starling will embark on its first major sporting sponsorship next year.
The bank has been named the official national banking partner for the UEFA Women’s EURO tournament, taking place across England in July next year.
As a result of the sponsorship, Starling Bank customers will get priority access to tickets in February 2022 ahead of the tournament.
There will be 31 matches played across 10 venues in nine cities, culminating in the final at Wembley Stadium.
“At Starling, we’ve long been a passionate supporter and driver of gender equality, with our #MakeMoneyEqual campaign,” said Starling’s head of brand Rachel Kerrone.
“We’re determined to help inspire the same enthusiasm for the women’s game as we saw for the men’s in 2021.”
According to UEFA and The FA, the tournament will be the biggest women’s European sporting event in history, with over 700,000 tickets available.
Over 162,000 tickets have already been sold, and go back on sale this week, with the public ballot opening tomorrow at 7pm.
Starling’s #MakeMoneyEqual campaign was launched in 2018, when the bank assessed the different language used in 300 media articles to describe how women and men manage their money—often categorising women’s spending negatively or to excess.
Earlier this year Starling launched the second part of its campaign by assessing the portrayal of women and money in stock photography across 600 images from three leading image libraries and found that women were four times more likely to be depicted as childlike with their money.
“It is important for us to have partners on board who share the same values,” said UEFA director of marketing Guy-Laurent Epstein.
“Working together collectively to deliver what is set to be a record-breaking tournament that further grows the women’s game.”
