Could this be an indication that Revolut is looking to launch its own tokens?
Earlier this year we identified the crypto leaders at the UK’s biggest fintechs, and soon we might have a new name to add to the list.
The new role will be “leading a technical team to architect and build Revolut Crypto exchange”.
Such a move would undoubtedly help the fintech improve its margins on crypto products and open it up to launching new services.
Still, with big plans, Revolut will need a seriously experienced hand to help guide the project.
The firm called for candidates with at least seven years in the tech industry, experience directly building an order matching engine and “Genuine interest in crypto”.
“You will work directly with our Executive team and Product leaders on our feature roadmap to revolutionise finance and enhance millions of consumers’ finance lives,” it added.
According to the LinkedIn job posting, there were only seven applicants. We’ll have to wait and see if any of them lived up to Revolut’s expectations.
Revolut has dramatically expanded its crypto offering in 2021, adding a host of new tokens including Dogecoin, building the ability for users to make Bitcoin withdrawals, and even paying for its own WeWork office space in Bitcoin.
