Climate impact investing app Clim8 hired executives from some of the world’s leading companies to drive growth and innovation, the company said on Wednesday.

The new additions include Leon Ho as Chief Product Officer, who joins from Monese where he held the same position.

Peter Kasprowicz joins from Credit Suisse) as Chief Technology Officer. Andrew Cocker, formerly Senior Director, Global Brand & Innovation at Expedia is the new Chief Marketing Officer; and Megan Olwen Williams, VP Operations and Chief of Staff also joins from Monese.

Founded in 2019, the fintech company raised £12m in funding from investors, including Channel 4 Ventures, 7percent Ventures, former CEO of Interactive Investor and over 5000 crowdfunding investors. The company is using these funds to expand its team of 38 and extend the app as it pushes towards growth.

Clim8’s Founder and CEO Duncan Grierson said as a rapidly expanding team with backgrounds at leading companies, they have the breadth of experience and industry knowledge to focus on innovating. The company expects to use its team’s expertise to have a positive climate impact and deliver “great returns to investors”.

Clim8 app says it invests clients' money in a targeted portfolio of listed companies that are already making an impact in climate change. It divides the portfolios into six categories: green energy, clean mobility, climate technology, sustainable food, water systems and the circular economy.

In the 12 months ending August 2021, Clim8’s most popular (high-risk) portfolio gave a 25 per cent return.
