News Digital Banking poaches new chief product officer from Novi, Facebook’s fintech arm

The appointment is part of a broader 2021 executive team overhaul at the fintech.

Payments giant has created a new role of chief product officer and hired Meron Colbeci to fill it.

Colbeci joins from Meta (aka Facebook), where he was head of consumer product management at the social media giant’s fintech product group, Novi, which developed its crypto wallet.

Before Meta, Colbeci was a senior product leader at SoFi and PayPal, with experience in both fiat payments and crypto.

His arrival comes at the tail end of a more extensive overhaul of’s executive team, which has this year added a new CFO, CTO, CRO, CMO and CHRO.

“Meron’s experience as a close partner and customer at Novi—and his years with numerous other fintech leaders—means he’s well-positioned to take our product efforts to the next level,” said founder and CEO Guillaume Pousaz.

To start with Colbeci will be based out of the fintech’s San Francisco office, with plans to relocate to Europe next year.

“Having worked with before, I had a good sense of how great the technology was and how capable the team was,” he said. 

“As I spent more time with Guillaume and the rest of the leadership team, I was inspired by the focus on building customer-first technologies that will help democratize access to the digital economy.”
