Revolut launches Allianz travel insurance benefits for Premium and Metal users

Revolut and Allianz are bringing travel insurance to the financial super-app’s Premium and Metal account holders. 

Users will now be covered for trip cancellations and interruptions caused by pandemics or epidemics, including Covid. 

As Revolut’s new global travel insurance provider, Allianz will provide services to all new and existing Premium and Metal account holders, starting in 31 markets across Europe and the UK. 

“Revolut and Allianz Partners have the same mission: to ensure the health and well-being of customers when they travel, as healthcare access and costs should not be a limitation to getting the medical support they need,” Global Head of Insurance at Revolut, Balazs Gati, said. 

“With this partnership, Revolut clients will receive a broader insurance plan with additional protection, together with all the great features they have come to love.”

As a valuable asset in the company’s product portfolio, Allianz travel insurance will boost Revolut customers’ confidence, Gati said.

“Allianz Partners is delighted to partner with Revolut to provide its Premium and Metal customers with comprehensive travel protection whilst travelling across the globe,” Chief Sales Officer at Allianz Partners UK and Ireland, Lee Taylor, said. 

“Our commitment remains to Revolut and its customers that we will develop innovative products across our portfolio that combine high-tech with the human touch,” Taylor added.

The insurance package will also include existing benefits, such as protection for overseas medical emergencies and lost or delayed baggage.

There will also be 24/7 medical assistance and other benefits provided by Allianz.

For Premium users, the service will provide cover for dependents up to the age of 17 and for Metal account holders there will be extended travel liability cover and car hire excess.
