The appointment of Maximilian von Both comes as BVNK looks to acquire banking licences in the UK and Europe.

Digital asset platform BVNK has appointed former Paypal legal counsel Maximilian von Both as its chief legal, risk and compliance officer, as it looks to acquire banking licences.
The London-based outfit wants to appeal to an array of financial services firms that want to offer digital asset services to their clients.
Specifically, it helps firms incorporate cryptocurrencies into corporate treasury operations.
It says that via a single account, it can help customers bridge between fiat currencies and digital assets to manage payments and trading.
The appointment of von Both comes as BVNK looks to acquire banking licences in the UK and Europe.
Previously, von Both was senior vice president of compliance for payments company Paysafe.
The qualified lawyer has also worked as legal counsel for PayPal in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
BVNK said that von Both’s “experience will prove invaluable as BVNK delivers on its vision of using blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies to reshape core banking systems and deliver superior customer experiences”.
BVNK CEO, Jesse Hemson-Struthers, said: “Crypto-powered banking is better banking. Digitally native, it is faster, more efficient, and better performing with lower costs.
“Bringing Max on board not only accelerates the acquisition of the appropriate licences, it means we can proactively engage with regulators and shape the sector’s development to the benefit of business customers.”
