Three Companies With Great Annual Leave

Annual leave matters: too few days and you’ll be tempted to hoard them until it is almost too late, splashing out on one big break at an often inopportune time in the year. If you have a lot of days coupled with a busy, stressful job, it can be counterproductive – how will you ever get to take them? 

It seems that annual leave allowances are a bit of a Goldilocks Formula. The optimum amount of paid time off (PTO) is neither too little, nor too much (though in truth, could you really have too much PTO?) but just the right amount.

With that in mind we’re taking a look at three companies with generous PTO and some nice additions too - extra days for tenure or for personal time, for example. You’ll find those below, as well as plenty of other open roles on our Job Board.


The Company: Crowdcube is an equity-based crowdfunding platform that allows anyone to invest money in return for equity in a business. Individuals’ investments are pooled, allowing entrepreneurs to secure funding directly from the general public and bypass the more traditional route of "angel" investors or banks.

Typical Annual Leave: This Team Lead (PHP) job is offering 25 days holiday, plus bank holidays as well as holiday for tenure. The Company: Formerly Perfect Ward, Tendable is a quality inspection app and platform for health and care settings and is used for healthcare quality inspections. Its community includes frontline workers, management and board directors in all types of clinical settings including hospitals, disability services, social and domiciliary care, and ambulance services.

Typical Annual Leave: This Software Development Engineer in Test role is offering 25 days holiday plus bank holidays. You’ll also get an individual personal development budget plus three days leave per annum. The Company: The only clearing bank in the UK that doesn’t offer retail banking services, ClearBank was also the UK's first new clearing bank in more than 250 years when it was launched. It is a clearing and agency banking platform that gives banks and other customers real-time clearance on payment transactions. Typical Annual Leave: This Senior Security Architect role is offering 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, two days off per year to do something ‘bigger than ClearBank’ - aka charity days - as well as “Fresh Air Fridays” – a flexible option to finish early on a Friday where possible.
