Here are the European fintech entrepreneurs on Forbes 30 Under 30 list 2022

Earlier this week Forbes launched the Europe edition of its 2022 Forbes 30 Under 30 list, covering the young entrepreneurs who have shaken up their respective industries over the last 12 months.

Some 59 per cent of the list are founders or co-founders who Forbes says have collectively raised more than $2bn in funding.

“Now, as we emerge from the impacts of the pandemic, these talented young visionaries are inspiring us to look forward and create a better future for society and the environment through creativity, entrepreneurial spirit and the power of bringing people together,” said Kristin Stoller, deputy editor of Under 30 at Forbes.

Of the 300 names on the list across ten different categories like retail, arts and technology, there are a handful of familiar fintech names, including:

Marco Cancellieri, co-founder of Trade Republic

The head of mobile at Germany’s $5.3bn share trading fintech Trade Republic, which Cancellieri co-founded in 2015 aged just 21.

George Robson, partner, Sequoia Capital

A former Morgan Stanley analyst and product owner at Revolut, now at Sequoia Robson has led investments into fintechs like Trade Republic, Pennylane and Telda.

Alan Chang, chief revenue officer, Revolut

Chang, who spoke at AltFi’s Festival of Finance just last week, is in the process of stepping down at Revolut after being the fintech’s seventh employee. His next venture is said to be a Web3 startup focused on sustainability, but little is yet known about the project.

Emil Urmanshin, operating partner, Revolut

Another Revolut employee, Urmanshin is currently leading the fintech’s crypto initiatives and reports directly to CEO Nik Storonsky on the company’s “new bets”.

Will Smith, co-founder, Tred

Fresh off a £1m crowdfunding campaign in 2021, Smith is hard at work building eco-friendly banking app Tred, which lets consumers track the carbon footprint of their spending habits.

Dan Chaplin, principal, Dawn Capital

After being promoted to principal at Dawn Capital last July, Chaplin has already led the VC’s investments in B2B BNPL provider Billie.
