GoHenry makes first foray into Europe with Pixpay purchase

GoHenry has acquired a leading teen banking fintech in France and Spain, marking its first foray into the European market.

GoHenry, a neobanking fintech that offers prepaid cards for children aged 6-18, has purchased French fintech Pixpay for an undisclosed amount.

Pixpay, founded in Paris, is a similar offering to GoHenry although it targets children from 10-years-old, a slightly older demographic than GoHenry whose youngest target market is six-year-olds.

GoHenry’s experience and heritage will only serve to strengthen the already strong proposition offered by Pixpay.”

Pixpay has 200,000 members and was launched in Spain in 2021, less than two years after launching in France.

It also plans to expand into Italy and Germany later this year. 

GoHenry said the two apps will continue to run under their own brands, with no change in leadership, headcount or headquarters.

It offers accounts including a prepaid debit card to children aged between six and 18 years old,

In April this year, GoHenry said it is dumping plastic cards in favour of a biodegradable alternative.
