AltFi Awards 2021: The Recap

For nearly a decade, we’ve been celebrating the achievements of the best and brightest in alternative finance and fintech at The AltFi Awards. As our 2022 Awards draw closer, we wanted to share with you some of the highlights from last year. Let’s get to it!

Swanky site

You can’t have a great event without a great venue - so that’s why we secured a magnificent location for 2021’s Awards! After a splendid champagne reception, the night’s main events unfolded in the historic 1901 Ballroom of the Andaz London Liverpool Street. With its Victorian architecture and original stained-glass dome, the ballroom provided the perfect setting for a top-tier ceremony. The beauty of the room was only enhanced by our guests; their lovely black-tie outfits served to magnify the venue’s grandeur.

Cracking charisma

The night’s programme was led by the talented Iona Bain, an award-winning speaker and MC of the night. She perfectly balanced keeping the night’s events lively and focused - everything ran like clockwork while remaining entertaining. AltFi’s Daniel Lanyon and Oliver Smith spiced up the night by cracking some great jokes to keep the atmosphere light.

Fancy feast

The best in financial innovation deserves the best in cuisine, and that was certainly on offer at the 2021 Awards! The exquisite dishes defining our three-course set menu were made from local, in-season ingredients, and included options catering to various dietary requirements. Our favourites from each course: the confit duck terrine, salt marsh lamb cannon, and the dark chocolate and passionfruit delice.

Crazy-fun casino

The party didn’t stop once the official Awards Ceremony was over! After the evening’s winners had been announced, the good times kept coming at our fun money casino. While some guests tried their luck at poker and roulette, others watched on and soaked in the spectacle. The thrill of gambling with none of the risk – truly the best of both worlds!
