Ambreen Khasru, who was previously at Zilch,Monese, myPOS and MoneyGram, is joining Juni’s leadership team.

The Swedish neobank has appointed Khasru as vice president regulatory and oversight officer as part of an effort to strengthen its compliance function.

Her hire adds to a number of recent new appointments for Juni’s senior team, including former PayPal execs Colin Moss-Davies as VP of sales and Timo Gerken as VP of revenue operations.

It also follows the fintech’s $206m funding round a few months ago.

“Operating a safe and secure financial ecosystem is very important to us, ensuring we are managing risk, upholding our reputation and keeping our customers protected,” Juni CEO and co-founder Samir El-Sabini said.

“Having Ambreen on board to lead the team will enable us to put the right guard rails in place so we can scale while keeping our customers front and centre.”

Khasru will be responsible for leading and managing risk, legal security and the company’s brand reputation, bringing her experience from her roles as chief compliance officer at Zilch.

“I’m very excited to join the Juni team as I’m passionate about helping businesses grow by using financial products and features that create value for them, which is exactly what Juni is all about,” Khasru said.

“I’m joining an amazing team during a really exciting period of growth, and look forward to working alongside a specialised compliance team that will instil a compliance culture while maintaining Juni’s values, and keep our customers' needs at the heart of everything we do.”
