Mondu has bolstered its leadership team with the appointment of a new chief commercial officer and chief people officer.
Berlin-based payments startup Mondu, which offers ‘buy now, pay later’ services to businesses, has hired Julian Kurz as its chief commercial officer and Lauren Hoehlein Joseph as its new chief people officer.
Kurz is a serial entrepreneur and former BCG Partner and for the past seven years has worked at VMware, a global software and cloud infrastructure provider where he was head of enterprise EMEA. Kurz will lead Mondu’s commercial team covering sales and strategy management.
Hoehlein Joseph was formerly VP People at fellow Berlin scale-up Grover, another Berlin-based fintech. In her new role she will be responsible for the teams working in Talent Acquisition, Engagement and Development, and Platform and Business Partnering.
Mondu was founded in Berlin in 2021 by Malte Huffmann, Philipp Povel and Gil Danziger. Despite being founded just over one year ago, Mondu has a staff headcount of 120 people and raised a $43m Series A round earlier this year.
The business has recently taken its first steps of an ambitious geographical expansion plan with a launch into Austria.
“We’re rapidly growing our team and attracting world-class talent like Julian and Lauren. Both of whom we know will add immense value to Mondu as we continue to expand internationally and introduce new products for our B2B customers,” said Malte Huffmann, Co-Founder and Co-CEO of Mondu.
