Google Pay adds BNPL option through Affirm deal
Affirm has deals with Amazon Pay and Shop Pay to offer flexible payment options, among others
Buy, pay later giant Affirm has landed a deal with Google Pay that will see its lending services offered in the US from next year.
Users of Google Pay will, from the beginning of 2024, be able to select a pay later option at certain merchants' apps and websites at checkout.
"By integrating Affirm into Google Pay, we are making it easier for consumers to take advantage of Affirm’s flexible and transparent payment options and for merchants to drive growth," Jamie Cunningham, Director of Strategic Partnerships at Affirm said.
"This is an exciting step forward in our distribution strategy, as roughly half of shoppers are using digital wallets more frequently than they did before the pandemic and mobile commerce is growing faster than overall e-commerce," he added.
