Revolut expands travel offering with in-app marketplace

Taking its next step towards becoming the all-in-one destination for finance, travel and lifestyle, Revolut is launching an in-app marketplace full of travel experiences.

Revolut customers in the UK and Europe will now have access to more than 300,000 ‘Experiences’, including tours, activities and attractions.

Customers get up to 10 per cent off any booking, and can do so directly through the ‘Experiences’ section on the app.

“We know that new experiences are the best part of holidays. Therefore, we’re excited to now offer our UK and EEA customers access to the world’s largest marketplace for tours, activities, and attractions with the launch of Revolut Experiences,” Revolut GM of lifestyle products Christopher Guttridge said,

“Experiences joins our suite of travel products, as we continue to deliver ongoing innovations aimed at meeting our customers’ travel needs to supercharge their trips — including holiday home rentals, hotels, travel insurance, and currency exchange.”

Customers will be able to pay for the experience through Revolut, with instant cashback ranging from 3 per cent for standard plans, to 10 per cent on Metal and the new Ultra plans.

The new premium plan ‘Ultra’ launched last month and sits above Plus, Premium and Metal, costing customers £540 a year.

Ultra comes with an even wider suite of travel bonuses, including insurance that covers cancellation for any reason and allows members to be refunded up to £5,000 a year for travel, accommodation or events.

Revolut says the card offers up to £4,100 in benefits per year, including more than a thousand airport lounges and a significantly expanded range of luxury benefits, including newspaper subscriptions and ClassPass credits.
