Financial ‘super app’ Revolut has launched joint accounts for its UK customers.

It allows existing customers to create an extra account within the Revolut app, provided both are already users, which can then be shared jointly and owned by two people.

The new feature is open to partners, family members and friends but each person can only have one joint account.

Joint accounts are already live in continental Europe where Revolut says it has had an uptake from 100,000 users since launching in April.

“As it continues to scale at pace, Revolut is becoming even more social and inclusive to meet the needs of different individuals, relationships and budgets,” said Antonella Benhamou, Head of Banking Tribe and UX Product Owner at Revolut.

Joint Accounts will help to easily sort out money matters with whomever we share our financial life – blending the best of existing social and banking features,” Benhamou added.

Launched In 2015, Revolut claims more than 30 million customers globally.
