Starling alum Megan Cooper joins ClearBank as CPO from Barclays

From a challenger to an incumbent and now.. a clearing bank.

ClearBank has hired Megan Cooper as its new chief product officer.

In the role, Cooper will lead ClearBank’s product management team and develop its product strategy.

Cooper will work closely with the bank’s client management, innovation, engineering, and risk and compliance teams.

This will include, creating and executing ClearBank’s roadmap as it expands into new markets and as it looks to retain new signs of profitability.

Cooper joins the fintech from Barclays where she held the role of chief product officer as well as head of digital strategy. Before her roles at Barclays Cooper was chief platform officer at Starling Bank. 

“ClearBank’s success is built on understanding its customers’ needs, and that only comes from listening and using that insight to deliver great products,” said Cooper.

“I look forward to working with ClearBank and continuing this approach, creating services that will meet customer needs both in the UK, Europe and the US.” 

ClearBank saw revenues in the first half of 2023 jump 144 per cent year-on-year to £49.3m, while customer deposits grew 80 per cent from £3bn to over £5.4bn.
