The Bank of London has hired Frankie Woodhead as its new chief product officer.

Woodhead was previously vice president and general manager at 10x Banking and has also held a variety of roles at Barclays where he joined in 2009 as a graduate trainee.

“I’m honoured to take on this role at such a key time for the industry and the growing bank. Having seen the direct client and customer impact of financial crises, it’s clear the world of banking needs to be fundamentally changed to be safer and more transparent,” Woodhead said.

“Not lending, investing or leveraging any deposits makes The Bank of London a safer home by design for client and customer money. The bank has a bold vision and a product roadmap to completely change the banking landscape. I look forward to working with the team in delivering it,” he added.

Woodhead will oversee product vision, development and delivery across both the UK bank and the wider group.

Launched two years ago, the Bank of London recently extended its 2021 Series C round, when it raised $90m at a $1.1bn valuation, by $40m.
