Gerald Chappell is the CEO and Co-Founder of Abound, the leading AI-powered lending service that uses Open Banking to provide borrowers with more affordable loans compared to traditional lenders.
Gerald has had a diverse career across financial services. From 2004 to 2008, Gerald led KPMG’s Financial Services Financial and Data Modelling team, delivering modelling solutions to clients across the Financial Services sector.
Following on from this, Gerald moved to work for Ernst and Young where he served as an Associate Partner and the Head of Quantitative Advisory Services from 2008 to 2012, and later, in 2012 he became a Partner in EY's Financial Services Advisory business.
From 2017 until 2020, Gerald was a Partner at McKinsey & Company, based in London. At McKinsey, Gerald held several senior roles, including Global Head of Digital Lending and Global Head of Credit Analytics. This experience led to Gerald founding Abound in 2020 to revolutionise consumer finance by expanding access to affordable credit through better use of technology.
