Giles Andrews OBE co-founded Zopa in 2004, was CEO from 2007 to 2015, Chairman from 2015 until 2019 and remains an active board member. Zopa was the world’s first P2P lending business and is shaping the future of consumer finance by providing better value and service. Zopa is profitable and has now made over £5bn of loans in the UK, with over £1bn lent in the last 12 months alone. Zopa has now launched a next generation bank to extend its range of financial products to consumers. Giles is also chairman of: Bethnal Green Ventures, Europe’s leading early-stage tech for good VC (130 investments to date) for ambitious founders using technology to tackle big social and environmental problems that aim to improve millions of lives; MarketFinance, the FinTech platform where businesses have raised over £2.5bn in working capital; and carwow, the marketplace with over 6% of the UK new car retail market. He also advises the board of Dynamic Credit, the direct mortgage lender and asset manager with over €10bn in mortgage assets in the Netherlands. Giles received a Master’s degree in Experimental Psychology from Christ Church at Oxford University and his MBA from INSEAD. He was awarded an OBE in 2015 for services to financial services and was named FinTech leader of the year in the 2016 FinTech innovation awards.
