Jeff McCarthy

Until recently, Jeff was a Managing Director at LC Advisors, LLC (LCA), a wholly owned subsidiary of Lending Club Corporation (LC) in San Francisco, California. Jeff co-managed the institutional investor business at LCA for over 2 years.  He was responsible for driving the growth of the firm by way of building an ecosystem of institutional pools of capital to fund loans originated on the Lending Club platform. During his tenure, Lending Club originations went from approximately $25m / month to over $250m / month and assets at LCA reached over $800m USD from a base of approximately $20m USD. Prior to joining Lending Club, Jeff built and ran the capital introduction business for the prime brokerage group in the western US for Jefferies & Company, Inc.  While at Jefferies, Jeff drove strong growth in the prime brokerage business, expanding the hedge fund client base from a few initial clients to over 350 clients with combined assets in excess of $15 billion. Jeff spent the prior ten years of his professional career building, running, and marketing boutique investment management firms. Jeff has served as Chief Operating Officer, Chief Compliance Officer, and Director of Marketing for two emerging hedge funds. In this capacity, Jeff has structured numerous joint ventures, raised seed and early stage capital, and launched an offshore investment vehicle to reach non U.S. investors. His efforts have produced hundreds of millions of dollars in new assets for the firm that engaged him. Jeff started his career with the Business Consulting Practice at Arthur Andersen in Chicago, IL. Jeff has a BS in Finance from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.
