Julia von Buttlar is Deputy Head of the division dealing with all aspects of securities related delinquency at the BaFin’s Directorate for Securities Supervision. With 20 years of experience working in the financial market, she has a deep understanding of financial markets regulatory policy and is driven by the goal to reshape financial regulation for the better, which can mete out the opportunities of digitalization. She was responsible for implementing BaFin’s guidelines on the setting of fines in administrative fines proceedings. Julia is Member of the Enforcement Network at the European Securities and Markets Authority’s (ESMA) Enforcement Network and Member of the IOSCO Committee on Enforcement and the Exchange of Information. In 2017 she served a secondment with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
