Graduating with a First in Mathematics and Theoretical Physics from the University of Liverpool, Kevin embarked upon a short career in teaching prior to joining the Financial Services industry as an Investment Analyst. In the subsequent 17 years, Kevin progressed through the ranks of Fund Manager, Senior Fund Manager and Chief Investment Officer at private bank, Brown Shipley, before taking on the position of Group Head of Research & Strategy for the Luxembourg-based, KBL Group. During his time at KBL, Kevin took responsibility for the investment proposition and process across 9 countries, managing a team of investment professionals located throughout Europe, where, as the face of the Bank’s research unit, he has been a regular commentator on investment matters for BBC TV and Radio, Bloomberg TV, CNBC and Sky News. Thanks to the happy accident of starting his family early, the advent of his eldest daughter’s wedding coincided with his 40th birthday, upon which Kevin opted to resign his post at KBL and fulfil an ambition to buy a sail boat and meander his way down the West Coast of Italy over a 5-month period. Upon his return to the UK, Kevin took up a number of consultant roles for various Investment Management and Banking businesses, including his first non-executive directorship. In October 2017 joined AJ Bell Investments as Managing Director & CIO responsible for leading AJ Bell’s investment team and developing the range of investment solutions it offers to financial advisers and customers.
