Lara has worked in finance and payments for more than decade, specialising in how technology can make finance more accessible to both consumers and SMEs. At iwoca, she launched a new product – iwocaPay – a payment solution that makes it easier for businesses to get invoices paid. She also led the definition of iwoca’s strategy in 2019 which supported the successful application for £10m of grant funding from Banking Competition Remedies (BCR) Ltd. Before iwoca, she co-founded Yooz; an international remittance service that connects the UK to India, specialising in using technology and state-of-art payments infrastructure to make low-value transactions accessible for all. Prior to this she supported 25+ mobile network operators in 18 countries to launch and scale mobile money services - an industry with now over 1 billion accounts globally.
