Co – Head of Business Development

Macgregor is the Co-Head of Business Development at Westpac where he is responsible for new business models, venture investments, strategic partnerships and innovation.  Before joining Westpac in September 2016, Macgregor was a Managing Director at a venture capital and private equity firm in New York, a Senior Executive at a Silicon Valley tech company, an Investment Banker at Goldman Sachs, and a corporate M&A lawyer.  He started his career as an Associate to Justice Michael Kirby at the High Court of Australia.  He graduated from Adelaide, Princeton and Harvard Universities. Outside Westpac, Macgregor hikes, camps and fishes whenever possible.   He also co-chairs the Business Advisory Council for the Freedom Fund, a London-based organisation fighting modern slavery and human trafficking around the world.  He’s written articles and opinion pieces for many Australian and international ​publications, and lives in Sydney with his wife Tanya and their two young children.
