He is a lawyer, and former newspaper columnist and editor, and still writes regularly for The Independent and several trade publications. After qualifying with top City firm, Simmons & Simmons, Martin spent over two decades as a leading international financial journalist and editor. He has worked for LBC Radio, The Times, The Independent, The International Herald Tribune, Sunday Business and The Street.co.uk, and written weekly columns for The Sunday Telegraph and The Daily Telegraph. Martin is the author of a number of books, including a collection of satirical essays, A Fool And His Money (Orion), and the novels Meltdown (Macmillan), and its sequel Version Thirteen (Penguin Random House). He is the authorised biographer of the football manager, David Moyes. He is also a Fellow of The Royal Society of Arts.
