Group Chief Executive Officer and Director
Mike founded Pepper in 2000. Based in Hong Kong, Mike is responsible for implementing the company’s strategic direction and driving the organic growth initiatives in each of Pepper’s consumer lending, mortgage servicing and advisory businesses, across Australia, Asia and Europe. Before being appointed CEO, Mike chaired the board of the then privately owned Pepper as well as founding and running Oakwood Global Finance LLP, a specialty finance business which Pepper ultimately purchased in 2011. Mike has extensive debt and equity capital markets experience, with a particular focus on structured finance, securitisation, portfolio management and venture capital. Prior to founding Pepper, Mike served as the Executive Chairman of Future Mortgages (a United Kingdom-based non-conforming residential mortgage lender) and the Chief Executive Officer of the European subsidiary of FBR, a United States based, NYSE-traded, investment bank. While at FBR, Mike worked for 10 years in equity capital markets in both Washington DC and in London. Mike holds a Bachelor of Economics in International Relations from the London School of Economics.
